Story:

Meron is a 10 year old child from Iraq born with a birth defect in his heart (VSD). This condition had caused him pulmonary hypertension that is potentially lethal. The condition could not be surgically repaired in Iraq.

Through collaborative efforts between the Medical Relief Project (MRP), Gift of Life-Amman (GOLA- Mr. Rudy Habesch, Dr. Salaymeh and Dr. Khoury), Gift of Life International (Rob Raylman), and the Rotary Club district 7230 (Gida Chirafisi) he underwent a successful open heart surgery by Dr. Fadi Khoury and Dr. Mark Turrentine of Indiana in October, 2008. The Child is back in Baghdad in Excellent condition.
