Esho Sami Khamo

Age: Infant
Diagnosis: Heart condition
Place of origin: Iraq
Story:

Esho Sami Khamo is an infant from Iraq with a congenital heart disease known as Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), a compilation of complex birth defects of the heart that are incompatible with life unless surgically repaired. The corrective surgery is not available in Iraq.

Through collaborative efforts Gift of Life-Amman (GOLA- Mr. Rudy Habesch, Dr. Salaymeh and Dr. Khoury), Gift of Life International (Rob Raylman), and the Rotary Club District 7230 (Gida Chirafisi) he underwent a successful open heart surgery by Dr. Fadi Khoury and Dr. Mark Turrentine of Indiana in October, 2008. Baby Esho is back in Iraq in excellent condition.

We would like to express our gratitude’s to the MRP, GOLA, GOLI, the Rotary Club District 7230, and the pediatric cardiac team of the University of Indiana for their generosity and their diligent work.
