Samia  is a 42 years old Iraqi refugee in Syria with recurrent upper abdominal pain due to symptomatic cholelithiasis superimposed by acute cholecystitis.
The patient was referred to us by AAS-Syria. The Medical Relief Project of the Assyrian Medical Society has approved her care.

The proposed surgery, laparoscopic cholecystectomy,  was  successfully completed at a local hospital in Syria at a cost of (21,000 SL). The patient has recovered since.
