Salim is a 76 years old Iraqi refugee in Syria who was diagnosed with slipped discs and spinal cord compression leading to incapacitating back pain for which he was advised to undergo urgent laminectomy and decompression of the spine and internal fixation with hardware.

The patient was referred to us by the AAS-S. The Medical Relief Project of the Assyrian Medical Society has approved his care. He successfully underwent the above planned procedures in Syria at a cost of (165,000 SL). He is reported to be in good condition.
