Ramsen Robert Moshe

Age: 7 Years Old
Diagnosis: Bilateral Squint
Place of origin: Iraq
Story:

Ramsen is a 7 years old boy from Nohdra, Iraq who has been suffering from bilateral squint of the eyes causing double vision. The child is also socially stigmatized among his peers. He is advised to have his eyes corrected surgically before he develops lazy eyes. The operation cannot be performed in Iraq at the present time.

His uncle,  Mr. Enwiya Giwargis of Chicago has approached our representative, Ms.  Helen Talya for possible help. The Medical Relief Project of the Assyrian Medical Society was able to contact Dr. Ibrahim Asseidat, a specialist in pediatric ophthalmology in Amman, Jordan, who agreed to provide the care for Ramsen on charity basis. The visa application was secured by LT Colonel Muhammad al-Muwajdeh through the Jordanian Ministry of Interior. His preoperative, intra operative and post operative care was completed by Dr. Asseidat free of charge. The surgery was completed successfully on both eyes, and the child and his mother went back to Nohadra in good condition. Mr. Giwargis paid for the logistics while the Assyrian Medical Society had picked up the hospital bill.

The Assyrian Medical Society would like to thank Dr. Assseidat for his generous donation that had already made a tremendous difference in the life of this child, LT al-Muwajdeh, and Mr. Nabeel Hormiz for his invaluable help..
