Madlen  is a 55 years old Iraqi refugee in Syria with recurrent pain and discharge due to a chronic fistula. She was evaluated by a surgeon who recommended excision of the fistula under general anesthesia.

The patient was referred to us by AAS-Syria. The Medical Relief Project of the Assyrian Medical Society has approved her care. The proposed surgery was  successfully completed at a local hospital in Syria at a cost of (5,000 SL). The patient has recovered since.
