Iman is 49 years old Iraqi refugee in Syria who is diagnosed with throtoxicosis not responsive to medical therapy. She is deemed a candidate for thyroidectomy.

The patient was referred to Assyrian Medical Society by the AAS-Syria. The Medical Relief Project of the Assyrian Medical Society has approved the surgical care at a cost of (25,000 SL). The patient underwent the procedure successfully on February 25, 2010.
