Hayat is a 66 years old Iraqi refugee in Syria who was diagnosed with large umbilical hernia and ascitis for which he was advised to undergo paracentesis and repair of the hernia with the use of mesh.

The patient was referred to us by the AAS-S. The Medical Relief Project of the Assyrian Medical Society has approved her care. She successfully underwent the proposed procedure in Syria at a cost of (27,000 SL). She is reported to be in good condition.
